Z-blocks are 6x6 squares that deal damage to the player when touched, every second, the block will toggle between active and not active, while not active, the player can go trough it without taking damage, but if it turns active with the player inside, the player will get hit killed, this makes Z-blocks one of the few items that can hit kill the player
